NYX Liquid Suede: Sandstorm

FullSizeRender.jpg

After testing out my first NYX Liquid Suede in Sandstorm, I have one conclusion and that is – these lippies are my favorite drugstore lip product! Unlike a regular liquid lipstick, the liquid suedes do not completely dry down to a matte and are not completely transfer proof. It does however dry down to a less wet and moussey texture. It does transfer a little bit depending on how thick the layer is and how dry it is. About an hour into wearing one layer (no reapplication), it passed the kiss-on-the-hand test. When I ate and drank, a little product did come off but it wasn’t noticeable on the lips. This product is very easy to layer, it doesn’t get chunky and weird. I will say though that after 8 hours of wear, some product started to ball up and come off, which I didn’t mind because of the long wear time. This product is very comparable to my Bare Minerals Gen Nude, but the NYX is WAY more pigmented. The doefoot applicator is very long, skinny and bent which helps to make precise lines. Unlike the Bare Minerals one, I don’t need a lipliner. The only down side about these Lip Suedes is the lack of nudes (you know your girl loves her nudes). But honestly for $6.99, I cant complain. This color is actually an almost perfect dupe for my Dolce K, which is great because I can wear NYX everyday and not have to worry about running out or wasting product! The only different is that Dolce K pulls more cooler and darker toned, while Sandstorm pulls more warm and brown. I’m so glad I was able to try this and I have more colors on the way!
