The perfect moisturizer for Oily/ Combo skin?

During the first week of my Sephora store opening, I have numerous clients coming in and asking if we had the Tatcha Water Cream in stock, and for the first couple of weeks, we had a hard time keeping this item in stock. So honestly that peaked my interest and I finally just decided to take the plunge and splurge on a high end moisturizer. Prior to trying this out, I was using the Clinque dramatically different gel moisturizer, because gels are get for people with oily/combination skin like myself.

The claims of the moisturizer are:

  • Japanese Wild Rose visibly tightens pores and refines texture
  • Japanese Leopard Lily helps control excess oil and clarify skin
  • Hadasei-3, a trinity of anti-aging Japanese superfoods, restores a healthy looking and youthful radiance.

This product is beautifully packaged in a bright teal jar, with a golden spatula on the top to scoop out the product. I personally love the packaging, it feels nice and luxurious and I love the spatula because it helps with not contaminating my product. When twisting off the lid, there is a plastic cover over the product so that it doesn’t spill out and go everywhere. The cream actually has a nice, fresh rose scent to it.

Upon application, the cream feels very cooling and refreshing on the skin and I feel it actually absorb nicely into the skin and leaves me feeling very hydrated and smooth to the touch.

I’ve been using this moisturizer for a week and a half, everyday twice a day. I can easily say that is moisturizer is making my skin feel and look better – especially with makeup application. My T-Zone doesn’t get oily after a few hours which I love, which helps my makeup look fresher for longer. It is also making my skin feel radiant without makeup and helping the texture I get when I breakout. Honestly, this is one of the best high end products that hydrates my skin and helps me not get so oily (especially since it’s summertime)

Now, lets talk price. The Tatcha Water Cream retails for $68 for 50mL or 1.7 Fl ounce. I thought the price was a little steep for a moisturizer, but the price is justified by the quality of the product. But, I do get a discount because I am a cast member at Sephora but I will 10/10 recommend this to all of my clients and I will be repurchasing this when I do run out.
