Juvias Place Saharan Palette

IMG_6321.JPGOkay, so this is the second Juvias Place palette that I own, and I have had it for a little while and it never dawned on me that I didn’t do a review / swatches on this gorgeous palette.

If you’ve never tried Juvias Place palettes, the matte shades are creamy and blendable. The shimmers are really pressed pigments because they have some pigment to them, even with brush swatches!

This palette contains 12 shadows, 4 of which are matter and the remaining 6 are shimmer/satin finish. What I really love about the Juvias Place palettes are they are based on African culture, which I think is very unique. This brand is also Black owned, which is another reason people love this brand. I also really love all of the different color combinations that are in every palette, theres really something for everyone and each palette has a lot of combinations. I will be purchasing another palette because I need to step out of my comfort zone and play with some more colors!

Packaging: Each palette is made with colorful, quality card board and has a magnetic closure. Each palette has different African goddess artwork, which makes it really pretty to look at and the colors of the cardboard reflect the shadows.

Amount of Product: I have been looking everywhere to see how many grams of product you actually get and sadly I cant find it anywhere but the Nubian 2 palette has HUGE pans, the pans in this palette are about normal sized eyeshadows.

Vegan, Cruelty Free?: Yes Juvias Place is both vegan and cruelty free, for all my girls who look for that in their products.

Pricing: The Saharan Palette is currently on sale for $25, originally $30. I always use affiliate code Trendmood to save 10% off of my order. Her pricing is very nice because I was expecting to be charged more. You can order any of her products HERE.

Alright here we go with the swatches:

Top to bottom: Sokoto, Wodaabe, Bororo, Kia, Zoya, Iman, Jamila, Senegal, Chad, Katsina, Lulu and Fula.

Pros: Her shadows are sooooo pigmented and I have oily eye lids and her shadows last all day for me. I love the colors like I said before, I use Katsina as a transition shade all the time, Chad when I’d doing a smokey eye and Iman as an inner corner highlight to make my eyes really pop. They’re also like nothing that I own and they’re really fun to play with.

Cons: I wish her palettes were sold at other retailers like Ulta or Beautylish because her shipping is pretty expensive. There is free shipping right now for orders over $100 only in the continental US, which sucks because I live in Hawaii. I have the Magic palette in my cart right now, which I am currently lusting over because I just love the shimmers in that palette. That palette costs $35, but with the discount code it comes down to $31.50 but the sad part is that when I continued to a shipping method, it was $14.95! That is absurd because now the total is $45.95 that is just irritating. I reached out and they said “they have no control over shipping costs” but the last time I ordered from them the shipping was $7.95, which is still pricey but I can justify it. Okay sorry about my rant, I’m just really annoyed right now lol.

But just look at this beauty:

      • Okay, this is barbaric but I’ve just had a look for the sake of curiosity and it is actually CHEAPER to ship here than it is to Hawaii! $12.00! I have no idea about customs fees, but I do know that I would be charged a fee if I used my bank card because the currency isn’t the £ on the site!

      • I have no idea! you’d think it would be way more expensive to ship over here! At the moment, $ equates to £0.78, so the palette would cost me £19.39 which really isn’t bad at all! I know Maybelline’s Rocking Nudes is £12.00 at the moment for a comparison!

      • Oh okay thats not too bad! I follow alot of bloggers from the UK and I am so jealous that the brand MUA is so cheap like $1 or $3 and its pricey here. Im assuming its because its a UK brand?

      • I have never tried much MUA makeup tbh! I always see it in Superdrug but have never picked anything up from there! I have no idea why because it does look really nice when you see other people using it!

      • Superdrug is the one, my fiancé hates it when I say I’m going in there! haha! We have good drugstore, but trying to get certain higher end is hard like Morphe and Too Faced, all that has to come off line. We don’t even have a Sephora! xo
